About PantryGNV
A practical tool for finding free food around Gainesville: where to go, what to bring, when it’s open and how to get there.

What it does
PantryGNV lists food pantries, produce giveaways, free grocery stores and other free food in Gainesville and the rest of Alachua County. Each listing shows what the organization asks for, such as ID or registration, along with its published schedule and contact details, plus walking, cycling, driving and RTS bus options.
You don’t need an account. You can save places on your phone, add them to your calendar, and turn on reminders if you want them.
What it is not
PantryGNV is not a food bank and doesn’t hand out food. It isn’t affiliated with the organizations it lists unless a page says so. People can’t submit or edit listings. Information comes from what organizations publish themselves, or from trusted public sources, and every fact links back to where it came from.
Why sources come first
A wrong time or an unexpected ID requirement can cost someone a bus fare and an afternoon. So we show when information was last checked, say clearly when something is unknown, and never treat “not mentioned” as “not required.” When sources disagree, both versions stay visible. Read how we verify information and see the full list of sources.
Free to use, light on data
There are no ads, trackers or analytics. Your location is used only when you ask for nearby results or directions, and it isn’t stored. The privacy page has the details.
