Things to know about weekend distributions

  • Many are monthly. A church might hold its pantry on the second Saturday only. Check the date on the card before you set out.
  • They can be busy. With fewer options open, weekend lines are often long. Arrive early if the listing says "while supplies last."
  • Call before the weekend. Phone coverage at small churches varies, so try calling on Thursday or Friday.
